@Molly: It seems that BBC has learned a bit - currently danish TV are sending a british series called Secret State that is quite good - don't know if they have got inspiration from certain scandinavian ditto. Probably still learning since they have squeezed it into four episodes

Oh, and about the "we are not amused", I was sent to a Myocardial scintigraphy. It's a two part examination, but after the first, they said that the second examination was cancelled and I should talk to my doc. That really doesn't amuse us

I'm 60 and I've never had a heart attack. When I discovered that I had high blood pressure 10 years ago I treated it and my hypercholesterolemia aggressively. I began an intensive exercise program three times / week, one and a half hours per session.

The cardiologist's secret - you need to get your LDL cholesterol down below 70 mg / dl. Why wait until after your first heart attack?

Routine EKGs aren't particularily useful, though if you have hypertension or coronary heart disease you should get one as a baseline.

Sounds reasonable, but my problem is/was that there wasn't any warning signs - normal weight (185 cm/78 kg), reasonable blood pressure (130/85 (yeah, could probably be better)), LDL at 110 two years ago and 90 now. Maybe I'm just naive, but I can't see anything alarming - still I get these small attacks .

It was in connection with the scintigraphy that I got the "routine" EKG, so no, I don't get it regularly. Oh, and got the result of that today - everything works perfect.

The inspiration is a novel written by a former M.P. taht was already made into an excellent little mini-series a few decades back- 'A Very British Coup'.

Socialists (like the fictional Harry Perkins) believe in promoting social change through the democratic system, whereas communism is opposed to democracy. Perkins is only referred to in the film as "communist" by some of those who oppose him, and the actual quote in the film is "Harry Perkins from Sheffield, steel worker and third generation socialist" When Harry Perkins, a third-generation socialist, becomes Britain's Prime Minister, he sends shockwaves through the government, both at home and abroad. Nuclear disarmament and open government are just two of the things he wants to accomplish. US interests combine with the old boys network to try and defeat Perkins with spies, tabloids, tapes: quiet, behind-the-scenes tools to accomplish a very British coup.

It was a great little series shown at the right time for those of us who detested Thatcher & all her works. Don't forget the original 'State Of Play' too, and 'The State Within' . Both worth catching, if you have an idle hour or so between pulmonary scares

            Good health to you sir.
