There were much less stylish role models then, so well done on that. I was too short and chunky for rocking the Bowie look effectively, but the Station To Station tour look was easily achieved even without expensively dyed for 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' hairstyle. Nowadays I spend most of my time trying to persuade the locals I'm not a skinhead, despite my appearance.Originally posted by Alexander's Horse View Postsad to say but in the seventies I did my best to imitate him, including the parted hair and flop

I remember the sheer effort involved in getting trousers that weren't hideously flared. Or made of really uncomfortable scratchy tweed/wool material. Or, horror of horrors- crimplene!Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.

It had its moments but when I compare to the eighties, it was good.Originally posted by Sava View Postthe entire decade of the 1970's was a taste crimeAny views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

A.H. - Ferry video in yesterday's portion of the Music Thread just for you. I agree re:80s by the way- the early part was all Miami Vice jackets and grey leather and burgundy ties... and ghastly unoriginal synthy pop. Oh damn- and Dire Straits blasting out of Ford Escorts and winebars.Originally posted by Alexander's Horse View PostIt had its moments but when I compare to the eighties, it was good.
