Why would we want children buying knives? Children don't have full adult rights in either of our countries.

I'm not against banning purchases by children, that's well established and totally OK. I just think the idea that teenagers shouldn't be allowed to buy knives is taking it too far. It's not a strict moral principle.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

It came on the back of a significant increase in teen stabbings. It was accompanied by new laws against carrying knives in public without good cause.

That would almost certainly violate the second amendment here.

Another reason why I'm perfectly happy we don't have sweeping generalized rules like that in place.

When the argument is that for people to be safe they have to have a weapon, you'll allow everyone to have a weapon with no exceptions, including those that may use the weapon aggressively, in terror attacks, are mentally ill, are visitors to the country...for any reason, because personal safety is the reason weapons are legal. But you currently don't adhere to that concept as a society, nor in the laws.

Yeah, that's retarded. I carry a leatherman around pretty much all the time, not to stab people, but because it's handy. That doesn't constitute good and sufficient reason under British law. Screw that.

The fact is too many children drown in tubs.
More importantly, there is no sole purpose to objects, or purpose to objects period. They don't have some kind of soul to them that decides what their existence is about. That's retarded.

Yeah, but you guys have access to guns, which kinda makes knives relatively less dangerous. Seriously, what do we need knives for in ****ing Birmingham? To skin one of those urban foxes to make a hat?

I still have my Cub Scout knife, my Boy Scout knife, my fish gutting knife, and my x-acto hobby knife set.

Guess how old I was when I got each of those.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

No you couldn't. You'd damage your teeth and the gun. That's as dumb as "I think I'll go chop firewood with this broom".

Pen knives can be carried legally.

You eat roast beef while wandering the streets?

Nice try, but you can keep a katana at home to cut your meat or open boxes if you wanted. That's perfectly legal.
