Braindead, Taiwan's situation is actually the textbook use case of AIP subs. They are the kind of submarine used by Germany and Sweden.
If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

Yes, those. They're pretty cool. Unfortunately they'd be just about useless for the US. Our coastlines are too long and our deployments often too far away from bases for them to work. But they're damn near silent.

The Taiwanese will just use their B52's to launch missiles at the Chinese subs. Once again, HC proves he doesn't know anything about the real world.

They do not have any B-52s.

The Taiwanese B52's are so secret that even the Taiwanese know they have them, or where they are.

Yes, like my own secret nuclear war bunker. It is so secret that not only I cannot find the keys to enter it, but after more than fourty years I cannot even find it in the forest. If it was not a secret bunker I would be convinced it was stolen, this way it is just lost.

I don't think that China wants to revert to it's pre-"Nixon in China" status of having the doors of world trade locked to it. An invasion of Taiwan would certainly lead to a blockade that China's navy would be unable to break. Furtherore, their thrust at Taiwan would almost certainly detract from a war on the Korean peninsula. Would they really want to interfere with the war effort in Korea? What do they get from helping Kim destroy one of their major trade partners?

Why bother when they know perfectly well that with every year that passes the US/China balance swings increasingly towards them. Does anyone really believe that in 50 years time the US will still maintain the kind of conventional military dominance over China that would prevent China retaking Taiwan if it so chose?

The only hope for a continuing independent Taiwan is for Chinese democracy to replace the current system, or US willingness to absolutely guarantee nuclear war in the case of Chinese attack.
