yeah I would very careful indeed around neighbours, of course having teenage sons I know "careful" is a word they have blanked out until they reach about 25....Such shootings are not unknown in Australia. I have been shot at with buckshot, trespassing on farms when I was a kid, then of course it became a game of chicken.. which just shows how stupid boys are...cos buckshot can take out an eye
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Buckshot can take out way more than an eye. I think you're making a deliberate understatement but in case you're not, buckshot can very definitely kill you. If it can kill large game (and it can) then it can kill you, too. Even birdshot can kill you, but it will most likely only give you lots of very gruesome but shallow and non-fatal wounds.

My parents were lucky enough to have three very careful teenage boys. Never got invited to parties in high school though...

You're supposed to make up for that in college, you know.

I was - being a dad now I don't like boasting about the stupid stuff I did, and I sure feel weird warning my sons off stuff I did myself

Well I just got straight As on my midterm grade report (), so when it comes to adolescent recklessness I am probably a lost cause. Of adult carefulness, that is.

American suburbs are dens of mundane conformity, especially in the south. It's no surprise that he couldn't even tell it wasn't his house after entering it.

The homeowner heard his burglar alarm sound, grabbed his gun and went to investigate. When the two met on the stairs inside the house, the man said he told the teen to leave and fired a warning shot, according to a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation.

Caleb didn’t stop, and the homeowner fired again, striking and killing the teen, the official said.
Was this a stately home with a grand staircase? If you feel you are about to be attacked by a burgler who is a few feet away from you in your own home, do you fire a warning shot, inside your home? Story doesn't add up, unless, as I suggested, that this was a huge grand staircase and the vicious teen was far enough away that the murderer couldn't tell if the teen was armed or sober enought to know what was going on.

I would hope this shooter will have his day in court.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

If they are unarmed, you can't use weapons or lethal force - murky area though, how do you know
