Which ones did you have in mind ? I can think of the Ptolemaic rulers of Egypt, but they were an exception among the successors of Alexander, and the incestuous coupling didn't seem to be prevalent throughout the rest of Egyptian/Hellenic society.

I would think a more interesting look would see what various documents have to say, like the OT, Gitas, Tao, Buddhas, etc. I don't know, but I don't recall reading much about ancient proscriptions on the practice.
