You never hear this kind of whining from the Marines. The Navy doesn't give them dick and they're still out there kicking ass.

Obviously your only exposure to Marines is them having their dicks up you. They whine any time they can't just do a hulk smash straight up against a brick wall. They still haven't discovered the concept of maneuver warfare. So, in 1991 as in 2003, you let them do their little hulk smash thing like the fat kid in high school that you put on the O line in the football team , while the Army moves on to the real objectives and ends the real war.

The reason DEVGRU was chosen is because at the time it was available for making the dress rehearsal of the assault to the President's staff and because at the time Afghanistan was in its area of operations. At that time, Delta's area of operations was (and as far as I know continues to be) Africa.
