I wish Hitler had been aborted. And they should have settled this debate during the Civil War.

Yes, I agree. However, given most procedures are so routine it was the "dramatization" I had a very minor issue with...not the fact that it exists.

The risk of maternal death is 9.1 per 100,000 births in the US, or one in nearly 11,000. That might not sound that high, but when it's a procedure that you don't actually want to undergo it's a big enough figure to matter. As for the rest of it, I don't think I was being that dramatic at all, pregnancy takes a big strain on a womans body and goes hand in hand with a fair amount of physical suffering for the woman. At least for most mothers it's a happy event which makes the suffering part tolerable, I can't even begin to imagine the mental trauma of being forced to go through that against your will.

also, any age based milestone like driving licensing, drinking age, marriage age, legal adult status... should be birthday minus 9 months

No, it's not that hard. Once a woman is pregnant, they can determine how long she has been pregnant, and thus, roughly determine when she has conceived.

Expectant mother: "I'm five months pregnant."

So, if she is from, say, Belgium, and she had conceived at anytime during the time she had been in United States, then the zygote is a naturally-conceived United States citizen, as the zygote is a person/human being.

I don't know of anyone who proposes an absolute ban. Even Catholics.

Ben wants to ban abortions for medically contraindicated pregnancies in general, but I don't know if he wants to ban abortions for ectopic pregnancies.

What if she moved from Belgium to the United States five months ago and is approximately five months pregnant? Is the fetus a dual citizen?

                          Because the government kills babies.

Hmmmm .... I guess so. Unless it can be proven that the conception occurred after she moved to United States, then no, there would not be a dual citizenship for the zygote.

Well now let's just have the government monitor everyone so they'll always know when someone was conceived. As a side benefit we can protect the sanctity of marriage by punishing people who commit adultery.
