The focus on Afghan civilians is part of a misguided "hearts and minds" strategy. We're talking about insanely backwards people who will pretty much never like us, because we aren't backwards like them. What we should have done, is instead, make them fear us so that they won't play host to people who blow up our buildings again. If they attack us again then we bomb the **** out of them again. Rinse and repeat. It's what Israel does in Gaza and it works. We shouldn't be wasting our time with this "building democracy" crap.
This is my favorite post from him. I hope it follows him his entire life.

                • It seems we have two people, possibly three, who have posted on this page who agree with me.

The whole nation-building experiment in Afghanistan was misguided and dumb and we should have knocked over the Taliban and left. If they came back, we'd just bomb their presidential palace or whatever. Then continue our ongoing assassinations of Al Qaeda leaders.

Yeah, HC and DD. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

No, we wouldn't. It's so obvious that we wouldn't. Are you trolling or do you really think this?

Most people in leadership positions in the military do not think like reg. Not that the U.S. does everything right, but they really don't do it as bad as he would. He would be laughed at in serious military circles...and here.

Why is bringing democracy to Afghanistan a worthy US goal?

                            • This would be much easier if you could read. Go through it again and come back with something that is actually about what was said.
