  • Former Republican presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan did support the Brady bill. They (along with Jimmy Carter) wrote a letter to Congress in 1994, here quoted in the LA Times:
Three former presidents endorsed legislation Wednesday to ban the future manufacture, sale and possession of combat-style assault weapons as a closely divided House neared a showdown today on the hotly controversial issue.

Reagan also wrote a New York Times op-ed in 1991, entitled "Why I'm for the Brady bill":
"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi
"I have nothing against Wilson, but he's nowhere near the same calibre of QB as Flutie. Flutie threw for 5k+ yards in the CFL." -Ben Kenobi

I like how MtG took it seriously. As if Maine were some sort of densely populated, post-apocalyptic hellscape.
      John Brown did nothing wrong.
