No, I support the UN's efforts to partition the US and make half of it California.

          • I said this in a previous thread and I'll say it again: The reason we should all support the right of the Israelis to defend themselves and their homes is because that's where they currently live. It has nothing to do with ethnic right to the land or other crap. The Israelis live in Israel right now and it would be morally objectionable to force them to move.

That's insultingly oversimplified and morally wrong.

If I came to your property and kicked you off of it and started living there, you would argue that others support my right to defend myself and my home because that's where I currently live.

                • No it's not. Some man living in Jerusalem should not be kicked out of his home because there was a war fought over it decades ago.

Moreover, the Palestinians have had a dozen or more chances to come to a deal and are uninterested in peace except by the total destruction of Israel and massacre of the Jews.

They could have accepted the borders in '48. They could have accepted the borders in '67. They could have accepted the borders in '73. They could have accepted the borders as they were in the '90s, during the Second Intifada, and today. They didn't. They're not going to accept any amount of land for peace.

On what planet did this conflict end 'decades ago?'

Unless you're suggesting the Palestinians make another go at pushing the Jews into the sea, that ship sailed decades ago. So the real question is who cares?

Of course culture is the explanation.

                        • The Jews inexplicably decided to make Palestinians pay for what the Germans did to them. Palestinians inexplicably have developed a culture than demonizes the Jews.

If politics were inexplicable there would be no point in discussing it. But human actions and politics are not inexplicable. What you're really asserting here is that you believe this to be true but don't feel the need to explain why. It just is. Well, who am I to question your faith, no matter how contrary to reality it may be?

In the US our [sometimes suicidal] young murderers use guns to shoot kids who made fun of them in school or wear the wrong color/tatoo. Not really a big difference in effect.

Of course the analogy fails since the US/Canada/Australia don't have any foreign oppression to deal with. A foreign nation that tried to push Americans off their land would show just how absurd your analogy is, since we would pump out more violence per capita than Islamists could ever dream of.

Please tell me how the Germans humiliated the Jews for decades after the second world war. Use this excuse again when Israel is prepared to make the same reparations as the Germans did 60 years ago.
Please tell me how being unemployed and poor is equal to having no future at all for you or your children just because you happen to be Arab in stead of Jewish.

Of course in your mind it is the culture difference. It is the only way you can dehumanize the Palestinians enough to morally justify what is happening there. In my mind you are just a scared little racist. Or, to use your comparison, of the same kind that the Gestapo would have loved to get their hands on for recruiting.
