Also, it lets us use schools for the polling booths without interrupting classes.
My district uses a middle school. The polls own the gym for the day, the students just have to exercise outside.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Also that way the kids see people voting... maybe be inspired to do so when they get older (perhaps that's the intent?)

I think it's more of a nod of the head to those who would get their panties in a wad over church and state nonsense.

Halo 4 comes out today. Turnout among the young will be down.

Roommate tells me when he voted the polling place was basically empty.

That means Ron Paul will win. I read it somewhere.

There were a couple Paultards on campus demanding that we should write his name in, actually

It's bad news for Democrats when the polling places around some of the biggest universities in Pennsylvania in a very liberal area are deserted.

                          During classes?

Do you even vote where you go to school?

My brother and SO voted back in their home riding (via mail) when going to school out of province.

CMU probably doesn't have a precinct all to itself...it's in midtown Pittsburgh.

It's up to students - they can declare residency in their home state or in the state they go to school in. In some cases this leads to strategic moving of course (your parents live in IL, you go to school in PA, so you want to vote in PA since IL is all blue all the time).

                                Thanks
