Okay. Let's assume this is all part of some kind of grand Obama conspiracy to not call it an act of terrorism.

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE AND WHY ARE WE TALKING ABOUT IT?

      No one can answer that...

Because the Republicans haven't got any actual susbstance to any policies to talk about so they can only take shots at what people might or might not have said?

If so I still scratch my head on that. Why is anyone even talking about that?
The right is trying to call Obama a liar to counter all the times Romney has been called a liar. Someone on Fox News called this the biggest news story since Watergate.

                a) Well it bookends nicely with a failed Presidency who's sole strategy is to pretend like the last 4 years never happened and acts as if Romney is the incumbent.
                b) Re this incident in particular: The episode from start to finish is an example of incompetence at multiple levels of the Administration.

The Romney campaign's top spokesman, Eric Ferhnstrom, said that it wasn't his tact to "complain about the refs."

"I think Candy was dandy," he added.

I haven't seen enough of the campain to comment on a) but I agree with b).

Seems to me that it would be smarter to focus on the incompetence at multiple levels of the Administration, not on a minor technicality of who said what when, especially if your one 'fact' about it is actually wrong.

And he'll look after decisions about their wombs for them, save them worrying their pretty little heads about it.

So, assuming all that is true (and I haven't followed this story beyond headlines), what makes it worthy of all the hand-wringing and accusations? I mean, if US intelligence verified within 24 hours that the attack was AQ-affiliated, isn't that the pertinent fact? The delay in confirming that to the public seems pretty irrelevant (unless you are a racist filmmaker, perhaps). IMHO.

I did get a chuckle out of Biden claiming that on day one, they were just repeating what the intel community was telling them. Since it was in error (at first) it's really not their fault and so you can't say they were hiding anything or showing any incompetence. (In general I really kind of agree with this). Now we can look at whether that's what they were really told, But how many previous administrations were blamed or had incompetence attributed to them due to intel errors?
