Originally posted by WikiKhadr states that he was refused pain medication for his wounds, that he had his hands tied above a door frame for hours, had cold water thrown on him, had a bag placed over his head and was threatened with military dogs, was flatulated upon, forced to carry 5-gallon pails of water to aggravate his shoulder wound. Unallowed to use washrooms, he was forced to urinate on himself.[69][81] His chief interrogator was Joshua Claus, who later pleaded guilty to abusing detainees to extract confessions following the in-custody death of wrongly accused Dilawar that same year.[84]

Nothing new about it. People have been shot on site at the side of the road for not being in uniform for centuries. It is a long extant rule of war.(\__/)

That basically is the case. If a uniformed police officer kills someone in the line of duty it is unlikely to be murder. If anyone kills a uniformed police officer it is very unlikely not to be murder.
Double standard? Yup. Good reason for it? Yup.(\__/)

Sorry but if you invade a country to fight a non-uniformed opponent, you can't really sit and cry about how the people you're shooting are actually shooting back at you. It's also a bit rich to claim they are not real soldiers and therefore don't deserve any of the protections of war.

Nobody is saying they did not deserve the protections of the rules of war. They did indeed get them. People who took up arms in an unlawful manner were prosecuted, not shot at the side of the road.(\__/)

they weren't prosecuted, they were taken and held without trial for years, or sent to third countries where they often suffered torture."The Christian way has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found to be hard and left untried" - GK Chesterton.
