    I didn't vote for Obama.
You won't support any candidate on all their goals all the time. And a two party system makes this worse since you'll support their goals less often.
You have to choose one that fits closest, which for me is difficult this time because the final answer seems to be "none of the above"
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

What do I think of President Canute?

      1. He undertook to stop the rise of the seas. They continue to rise, notwithstanding his ardour.

      2. He represented that his very presence would "ease Muslim hostility." Muslim hostility continues unabated, notwithstanding his ardour.

      3. He undertook to lower unemployment to pre-recession levels via the implementation of a stimulus package. The stimulus package was implemented but unemployment remains high in the United States, notwithstanding his ardour.

The President promised what no President could achieve. On each of these counts he failed. I'd say it's been a pretty poor record.

I'm honestly surprised that Obama is still upright. I feared he wouldn't make it a year.

            That's probably true.

I just had such a scary thought pass through my mind. I don't like Obama. He didn't have the experience going in and he's illustrated that perfectly since taking office.
Here was the thought. What if I someday, through whatever forks in the road, think, "I wish Obama was president again"?
Can you imagine the depths of despair we must be in, for that thought to occur? Now, is that scary or not?

What scares me is that when Clinton said that 'no President of magically fixing the economy', this is exactly (less the magic part) what Obama promised. This is taken to be in favour of him. The President made promises that no President could fulfil. It's meant to be a compliment? It's a back-handed compliment if I've ever heard one.

One other thing I'm curious about, did he, and does he still, think he was qualified? I can see him, out on the porch smoking and turning to Michelle and saying "I should say I'm running for president. Of course, it won't go anywhere, but it will get my name out there". Fooled him, huh? The voters were too wise (stupid) to fall for that ploy.

According to 538, Obama has an 83.9% chance of winning in their Nov 6 forecast.

Stimulus packages aren't magic. And it's clear that when those projections were made the people making them underestimated the severity of the recession.

edit: thank you Dinodoc for once again demonstrating that you are a useless poster.

And what does that tell you about the ability of the people making these estimates?

Not much. Should I expect economic forecasting to be easy?
