I hadn't really heard any cadences before today, and was mildly surprised by how unabashedly psychotic they can be.

    For instance,

    Then it just starts over.

There were others about running people over in tanks, killing terrorists in caves, invading Iran, and so on.

At first this struck me as kinda nuts, but then, as the title states, it's almost as if the army is principally concerned with killing people.

    Meh.

Dude, no one cares about your ****ty ROTC cadet stories.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

And nobody made you read the thread. I'd say this is one of the more interesting threads to get posted in a while, it sure beats additional MrFun spammage.

Sorry you feel that way. It would be a reasonable criticism if I were giving you weekly updates. ROTC is play army **** and not really interesting enough for that so you have nothing to fear on that score.

I'm saying you sound like a idiot boot cadet starting threads about ROTC. I've been both a officer cadet:

              and enlisted:

Which gives me a bit of a unique perspective on it. You sound like an idiot starting threads about your ****ty ROTC Cadet stories. You're trying to make yourself into something you aren't(someone who is in the military).

And if you try to drop "hurr hurr cadets are under the UCMJ" I'm going to laugh at you.

Uh, I don't think he's trying to do that at all. You're being rather hypersensitive about this...

So, why start a thread about cadences he's learned about then? He's trying to bamboozle you and others by building up the military-ness of ROTC.

He's like the jackass that goes home in between boot camp and A School and wears his uniform around town. "Look at me I'm in the military, no I haven't done anything other than march around and maybe shoot a rifle."

One of my life missions is the smack boots like that down. OP, stop being a stupid boot cadet.

At no point did I claim I'm in the military. And I'm pretty sure I'm not under the UCMJ. Considering I can leave the whole thing at any time that notion doesn't make any sense. I certainly hope I'm not because I still have no ****ing idea what I'm doing and was constantly getting corrected.

If I'm offending your sensibilities, sorry. I have no illusions about ROTC; it's play army, as I said. Three days a week I have to get up earlier than usual in the morning and run, and they make me cut my hair really short. I don't think they even have us shoot any guns.

If I start posting like an armchair general then citing myself as a source from my vast military experience please feel free to smack me down.

You make a thread about crappy cadet stories, you can expect me to come in here and pull the old salt card. To enlisted and former enlisted this thread looks a lot like you're bragging to home town buddies who aren't too sure what the military entails.

It's a bit like Albie and OCS.
