Anyone who ever doubted Lance was juiced was just naive or delusional. Now the question is, with the possible exception of Indurain*, who in the last 20 year worth anything wasn't juiced? And truth be told, if the effective PEDs and the masking techniques had been available, guys would have done it 40-50 years ago in a heartbeat.

The stage race portion of the sport is rife with doping because of the extrimity of the major Euro tours. Giro d'Italia and Vuelta de España are mother****er death rides too. The stage race aspect of the sport requires extreme sustained endurance over multiple weeks and very controlled energy management. You have the energy management aspect in individual events such as 4,000 meter persuit and the kilometer, and those are portions of the sport where there's no benefit to being juiced. There's also no big money or more than a purist or fanatic's following. Pursuit riders and time trialers are the ultimate geeks of the sport.

In fairness, I don't think the later retests for EPO done on Lance's '98-'01 samples had been published yet. Of course, because Lance was Amurkin, lots of people (including certain unnamed posters ) loved to lick Lance's cycling shoes and claim it was just a conspiracy by the jealous frogs to defame poor, innocent, "greatest cyclist ever" (which he never was, even if clean) Lance.
