Hence, the New Black Panthers intimidation case wasn't newsworthy and voter fraud against blacks in the South by blacks was not newsworthy. This is much for the same reason as black on black violence is not newsworthy. It's the bigotry of low expectations.
Why are you the only person on the planet who gives a flying **** about the New Black Panthers? Seriously, they are such an irrelevance its just inane bringing them up time after time like this.

I think threats to civil society should be taken seriously. The congressionally appointed Commission on Civil Rights issued an entire report on them, you know, because of their sheer insignificance.

Seriously, they are such an irrelevance its just inane bringing them up time after time like this.

So irrelevant they took part in a massive civil rights march, in which Obama, among many others, participated in 2007.

Doesn't that disturb you at all, the fact that a supposed civil rights march permitted the black equivalent of the KKK to march with it? Doesn't that speak to the actual conception of civil rights held by the marchers or at the very least, the organisers? If the Klan marched with the Democrats would you object? If so, why not the Panthers? Would you march with the Panthers?

Doesn't it disturb you that a case against them for voter intimidation was won and then dropped by the federal department of justice?

Does it disturb you that the head of the Nation of Islam was invited to Chicago by the President's former chief of staff and current mayor to 'calm things down' so far as black-on-black violence in that city was concerned? Why not invite Al-Zawarihi to give a talk at the local mosques to the same effect? Doesn't this speak to an abominable bigotry of low expectations to do this? Doesn't it imply that you think of these people as a rabble to be by a strong leader, who can't take care of themselves? What if the head of the Nation of Islam actually gains more converts for his cause? Is that a "win" because he can be "dealt with" unlike the supposed rabble? This is sheer myopia. Frankly it reminds me of the editorials about how reasonable Mr Hitler was in comparison with his supporters. Farrakhan differs from Hitler in power, not intent.

The bigotry of low expectations is the real and most prevalent form of racism in American society (and in my own for that matter).

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

I vote using a voter card sent to me in the mail. Elections Canada sends them to the last known address of the voter. The cards for the people that no longer live here I just put back in the box for Canada Post to return...

As to my Health Card - The new ones have pictures. Mine is so old it is actually only half of a card (they are credit card sized). It still has the number on the front and my signatature on the back so it is accepted. The government has been hassling me to get a new one but I can't be bothered.

Right, let's try this one last time. HUGE rally of totally respectable people, Obama present, TINY group of nutters turn up. This does not add up to 'Obama was marching alongside the New Black Panthers'. It's not a complicated thing to grasp.

No, because the thing about huge rallies of people walking through the streets is that its very hard to STOP anyone marching along if they feel the desire.

No, why would it? The only way that is in any way worrying is if you're an idiot and believe that the United States Department of Justice has some desire to protect the New Black Panthers. If you genuinely believe that then you're a moron, there is no other way to describe it.

No, ****ing idiots like you wandering about talking about how Americas first black president is a secret extremist who worships the New Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam is pretty ****ing racist to be quite frank.

              Here's what he's talking about:

That's a guy standing in front of a polling place with a weapon, clearly out there to intimidate people. That is disenfranchising voters. Asking to see ID is just applying common sense rules to a broken system.

If fraud exists, and it certainly does, and it isn't being detected or investigated, and it certainly is not, then we are all being disenfranchised.

We know that political machines are crooked as hell. It's absurd to believe that someone like Mayor Gray would run a proxy candidate like Sulaimon Brown, engage in finance shenanigans, and not have some of his friends vote on behalf of the recently deceased. Without any sort of mechanism to detect it though, it's all invisible.

Off course, this is really small potatoes stuff. We need to reform the entire political system, starting with the gerrymandering and first past the post elections. If it were a choice between IDs and ending gerrymandering, I'd go with gerrymandering.
Yeah - 86 cases of voter fraud in a national election is pretty fvckin' serious stuff.

Because I'm not a retarded caricature like the three of you. The right to bear arms does not permit you to brandish a weapon at a polling place in order to intimidate voters.

86 cases that we know about. I guess if you shut your eyes real tight, and make sure not to see anything, then all crime will disappear.

What exactly makes them 'intimidating' whereas other people carrying guns is perfectly acceptable? I'm curious.
