Romney clearly caved into pressure to choose Ryan. At least it's not a Palin-moment.

Mitt wouldn't really be President. He'd just hold the title and sign the forms. Someone else would be running things.

          Dick Cheney most likely.

He could have picked a cheese sandwich as his running mate and you would support it.

That'd be a far more appetizing running mate

When was the last time a Veep choice helped the top of the ticket carry a state it wasn't going to win anyway? LBJ?

I'm somewhat sure Romney camp was hoping for Florida to flip to him... hence all the time he has spent that, which courted rumors of a Rubio veep nom.

                        • I admit to being somewhat surprised that he didn't target a large swing state.

My official reaction: not a big Ryan fan, but at least they picked someone with a brain this time.

Where is the evidence to support your assertion that a Veep Nomination for Rubio would have bagged Florida in a situation that Romney can't win that state on his own? The last time a Veep choice was that demonstrably influential on which camp a state ended up in was LBJ.
