    • That's some good advice. When I go to Europe, I'll wear a cowboy hat instead

      • Why would you go to Europe, surely it represents everything you hate?

        • I will be a missionary of american capitalism! You'll be able to spot me with my 3-pound belt buckle, university sweatshirt and American flag cape and my caged bald eagle named Hedwig

In all seriousness, I would like to visit the UK at some point, just to see some of the sights and stuff. Castles are pretty cool, after all.

          • The UK barely counts as Europe anyway to be fair.

Which is part of why I'd be visiting it instead of, say, France. And there's also the whole "speaks English" thing, which helps.

              • A tourist in France gets along just fine speaking English.

France was more interesting than the UK when I was there. Especially if you're a WW2 geek.

If you ever get as far as the UK you'd be insane to not check out some more of Europe though. France is stunning.

I would probably say that London is the greater city, while Paris is the greater tourist destination.

In London I spent a lot of my time in their great museums. In Paris I have spent more days, and while I would have liked to have gone to the Louvre (I have not yet), my days were packed without spending much time at all in museums.
