I still don't see how mayors wanting to prevent CFA restaurants locating in their cities takes away CFA executives' free speech.

The CFA executives can continue to spew all the hatred-based opinions they want about gay marriage and gays in general. The anti-CFA mayors are not stopping them from doing that.

It's not preventing the free speech but it's attempting to punish it. It's not dissimilar to an employee getting fired at an unrelated job for speaking at a pro gay rally.

Individuals can boycott and have appreciation day and that's all fine but mayors attempting to impede permits for legal businesses would be wrong

There IS probably. Note that some of those who spoke in the article fear they could be fired if their employer finds out they are gay/lesbian.

I would if I lived in other countries. I am intimately familiar with American stupidity. I assume that other countries are also dumb as a bag of hammers to greater or lesser extents.
