I think HC is a sexual deviant, or rather, a homosexual deviant as he borrows his brother's Prius and then drives around D.C. all day hoping to lure poor unsuspecting gay men to their doom. No doubt he plays Abba's dancing queen the whole time and it is just horrible.

Both are in the category of highly dependable, fairly boring cars. The Corolla is smaller (more comparable to Civic). The Accord has a reputation of lasting longer than anything else in its class. You might also consider the Hyundai Elantra (nice car, well appointed and big warranty). Mazda3 is fun to drive if you're not over 6 feet tall.Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostNow, what's the practical difference between a corolla and an accord?Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

I'd hold out until after you graduate or it completely breaks down. But then again, I have fond memories of my junky first car.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. Really? I wouldn't buy any of those cars, because they would be hell to drive & park downtown.Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostTry "you Americans and your ability to purchase consumer goods that would be luxury items in poorer countries"
An SUV is not a large car: it's an SUV. There's large SUVs (like the suburban) and smaller SUVs (like the CRV).
Likewise, cars come in sizes as well. Accords and Corollas are large cars. A Mercedes A-class would be a small car.
Depending on the model. They've both been in production for over 30 years.Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostNow, what's the practical difference between a corolla and an accord?Indifference is Bliss

I have never driven Kuci's prius. I drive my dad's old Accord.Originally posted by Dinner View PostI think HC is a sexual deviant, or rather, a homosexual deviant as he borrows his brother's Prius and then drives around D.C. all day hoping to lure poor unsuspecting gay men to their doom. Thanks! Sounds like the Accord is the way to go but I'll look at the Elantra. Dad recently got a new Sonata and loves it. Also, boring is fine. Dependable is great. I don't want to have to replace it for a long time.Originally posted by -Jrabbit View PostBoth are in the category of highly dependable, fairly boring cars. It's just as easy to find a space for a large SUV downtown as a small sedan. Parking spaces are all the same size, unless there are motorcycle spaces (and I don't think there are; at least, I've never seen any).Originally posted by N35t0r View PostReally? Personally I'm a big fan of AWD crossover SUVs. They're reasonably priced, have space for my stuff, and perform sufficiently well in the snow on Rochester's flat terrain.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen you write, and that's including the crap about driving in the snow. Have you ever been to this country? Nobody walks to work here. That's stupid.Originally posted by BlackCat View PostSeriously doubt that you need a car - get a bike or walk
After all, why the hell would anyone walk or ride a bike when you could drive? You can stay out of the heat; after all, he lives in Virginia. You can get places way faster and spend less time commuting. You can live way out in the suburbs and have a pretty big house with a nice lawn for not too much money. Even at college, I live 2.5 miles from school and drive in. That way I can get cheap off-campus housing with plenty of space. $600/month for 600 square feet, in a nice neighborhood with next to no crime.
Too expensive, especially if you're living with family. He's a college student so he probably is.Move closer if neessecary

Only boring people live in the suburbs.
HC, do you drive in NYC?“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
