Like I said, part of me agrees with that statement but we still have the problem of people in the ghetto, so called food deserts, don't have access to supermarkets so the food they can buy often is processed junk food. What good is it to give them food stamps if we tell them they can't buy anything in their local corner store and they can't drive some where else? I suppose over time shop owners will adjust their inventory to suit demand but what do we do in the mean time?

I doubt it was too much theft and instead it had more to do with people had such low incomes there was little demand. Supermarkets generally try to avoid the ghetto simply because they have their choice of where to build a new store and people in a neighborhood with an average income of ~$80,000 are likely to buy more stuff (especially higher marked up stuff) than people in an area where the average income is ~$15,000. There is an opportunity cost for the company (if they build in one place then that's one store they're not building some where else) so the companies naturally gravitate towards areas where they can make greater profits via higher over all sales and more sales of high margin goods.

        Fruit
        Fructose
        Fruit juice

I wish I could drink more fruit juice here, but it's ridiculously expensive and/or hard to find. So I end up drinking Tang-like substances and/or water that's generally more risky to drink than soda. I do get lots and lots of fresh fruits here of course. Fruit juice is a great way to enjoy the taste of out-of-season/unavailable fruits.

I'm sitting in front of a computer monitor right now too, rather than out doing low impact aerobics or meditating or planning out my next weeks caloric intake. I have cut porcelain and metal fixtures out of my bathroom though, so I'll outlive all of you...

Yes, so there is forums superstar Aeson posting, and there is this dumbass egghead from UCSF with his fancy-pansy charts and boring chemistry talk.

Hmmm, not sure who should I trust.

I actually scored full points in the area. You have made no refence to the fact that in the vast majority of sircumastances in this day and age, fructose is a big net negative for you in terms on nutrition and health.

No, you clearly missed the meaning of my post. You've got it completely backwards.

With fat acceptance bull**** and pseudoscience floating around the web I am basically prepared to accept anything as an opinion.

So because of fat acceptance you read drawing analogies between fructose consumption and other health hazards as denying that there are health risks associated with it?

                    • There's nothing wrong with fruit. Naturally occurring fructose doesn't raise insulin levels like sugar does, so the pictures that albi posted are just ****ing stupid, but then again I expect something like that from him. Also, fruit just happens to have some of the highest anti-oxidant foods around. NASA actually has a shot composed of different fruits, and I think green tea as well, that is designed to help astronauts resist the radiation in space. All the carbohydrates in my diet come from fruit, except for when I cheat which has been too often lately...something I'm working on. I swear there is cocaine in Digorno pizza. Still though, I have an 8% body fat percentage and I now weigh 160 at 5'10" with no cardio at all.

                        • Which is meaningless without knowing your height and body fat percentage. I also see you aren't disputing my previous post.

                          • I'm sorry. I wasn't aware those pictures were depicting how fruit affects insulin. They were showing the amount of sugar in each serving of fruit represented by sugar cubes. The purpose is to show just how loaded in sugar fruit is.

                            I'm 6'2". I don't know my body fat percentage.

                            • So you're a full 4 inches taller and you don't even measure your body fat? That 30 lbs doesn't seem so hot now. lol Also, sugar cubes and fruit is a dumb comparison. They are not the same, so you can't represent it with sugar cubes. The obvious point of those pictures was to show people that when you eat fruit you are essentially eating that many sugar cubes. That's bull****.

How would I go about measuring my body fat? I don't have calipers and they're not accurate anyway. Frankly, I could care less whether I'm 10% or 15%.
