If you had talked to any Argentinians, you'd know that rational sense is completely irrelevant and doesn't have anything to do with it. Argentina is headed for another default/currency collapse, and the government wants people to pay attention to something else. My guess is that they know they won't get the Falklands back probably don't want them back. If they got them back, they'd have to find another way to distract the masses.

Of course, hence my toddler throwing a tantrum remark. The Falkands gets dragged up about every 40 years. Between 1888 and 1941 there was a longer gap, and now we have 31 years to get the average down. On the Argie side, it's all bread and circuses, but they can't do anything about it. If it's ever going to change hands, that will be something the UK decides or the Islanders themselves.
