It gets better, Captain Cook had earlier raised the flag in Botany Bay but just as Captain Phillip, commanding the first fleet, was having his little flag ceremony in infant Sydney town on 26 January 1788, a French explorer named La Perouse showed up and anchored in Botany Bay. This after millenia of nothing much happening on the east coast of Australia...
The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia's largest and most visited art gallery and museum, renowned for its famous exhibitions and cultural experiences. Open daily with free entry, NGV is a must-visit destination in Melbourne, attracting both art enthusiasts and tourists. Whether you're seeking free things to do or exploring one of Melbourne’s most famous cultural attractions, NGV offers a memorable and enriching experience for all.
The presence of La Perouse was quickly discovered by foraging parties because he anchored near the "Tank Stream" which became Sydney's water supply. The meeting was amicable but the Brits rushed back to build a fort on the site on Botany Bay where La Perouse had been seen just as soon as they could.
That part of Sydney is known to this day as La Perouse. He consoled himself by going off to claim New Caledonia for France while the natives weren't looking

I still want to find the island from Lost but supposedly it moves location and moves through time so it's hard to find.

300 inches of rain per year?! Jesus Christ! What do you do use a boat instead of a car to go down the road? Seriously, even the temperate rain forests of northern California only get a little over 100 inches of rain per year. 300 is almost an inch of rain per day!Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

We have a boat
Re Farcry, I haven't spotted any actual zombies, but some residents do a close aproximation, especially when stoned on sakai (sa-cow), a potent local version of KavaAny views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Lost was filmed in Hawaii on the same island they filmed Jurassic Park.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

This island is very similar and just as kooky as the show.Originally posted by DaShi View PostLost was filmed in Hawaii on the same island they filmed Jurassic Park.
The big attraction here is these ruins, which might have just as well inspired an epsiode of Lost.
It is a mystery who built it and how, massive stones were moved, over 90 islets created with canals like Venice.
Now it is a taboo, haunted place.Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Correct. The fictional island that served as the primary setting for that television series was probably located at approximately 33°7′S 171º6′W before Benjamin Linus moved it in December 2004. It's current fictional location is unknown.Originally posted by DaShi View PostLost was filmed in Hawaii on the same island they filmed Jurassic Park.Last edited by Tupac Shakur; March 11, 2013, 23:16.

from the CBC.Falkland Islands voters decided by an overwhelming 99.8 per cent margin Monday to keep their government just the way it is: a British Overseas Territory.
Of the 1,517 valid votes cast, only 3 islanders voted "no" to the question: "Do you wish the Falkland Islands to retain their current political status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom?" One vote was somehow lost.
As though there was any doubt, 92% turn out and near unanimous vote to stay British. There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.
