Zimmerman did not commit a crime by approaching Trayvon. Nor did approaching him give Trayvon the right to strike him.

I'm curious if information about Trayvon's mind-state could help corroborate Zimmerman's story; that is, is it plausible that Trayvon struck Zimmerman when he was walking back to his truck?

Even if it is inadmissable in court, it may be important to counter this media outrage. I'm suspicious at the unanimous consent of guilt by social media.

Stalking someone at night is going to make that person fearful (which the cellphone conversation with the girlfriend showed). If Trayvon tried to hit the guy following him, then thats not nearly sufficient reason to get shot.

Zimmerman says he was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon followed HIM and punched him.

I don't know if it's admissible in court that the kid (seemingly) took a pop at a bus driver, but it certainly updates my period as to what actually happened (just like the possible racist remark by the vigilante on tape did). I'm also not particularly impressed by people coming out AFTER the national outcry (three weeks after the incident) to say that the cops pressured them). It has the smell of mob justice.

If Zimmerman turned around and walked to his truck how did Trayvon hit him in the face?

The article I read said Trayvon was expelled from school for possessing an empty baggy which had contained pot. I'm wondering how they determined that the baggy had contained pot.

I've taken a 180 on this issue since the media outrage. I posted this thread before it caught like wildfire (I posted it March 8th!)... but the way the masses are crying for blood scares me.

I'm still leaning toward this being murder, but it's more like 60-40 (compared to my original 80-20).

The evidence as it stands (that I know of): a black teenager returning from a store with skittles is shot by a hispanic man posing as a neighborhood watchperson. I say posing because the local Neighborhood natch association says he never registered. The shooter says he was attacked after walking away. His GF who was on the phone with him shortly before says the teenager saw he was being folowed and was trying to walk away. She claims she hears a scuffle, then the phone "goes dead". The 911 operator receives a call from Zimmerman in which Zimmerman states his intention to follow the teenager. A local kid sees someone, probably Zimmerman on the ground shouting "help", then a gun shot, then the shouting stops. There's no report of the kid seeing Trayvon. Is that just an omission by the press, or was Trayvon far enough away from Zimmerman that he wasn't visible? If he was that far away how could Zimmerman be in imminent danger? Wouldn't just pulling the gun and shouting "stop" be enough?

How do you know that he hasn't inflicted those damages by himself ? I mean, he might have relized that he had just killed a kid and looked at a lifetime sentence. Hitting himself on the nose, banging the head into some concrete and rolling in the grass isn't much to pay considering the alternative.
