Oerdin - Advertisers will lay low while the heat is on but once the media circus moves on the unscrupulous bastards will be right back in the swill as if nothing happened. It's not like this is the first time Rush has said outrageously stupid/offensive things.

A drastically declining number of listeners would be noticed. This won't happen.

Rush seems worried though because he has supposedly said he won't let any of the advertisers who leave come back. I suspect it's an attempt to scare advertisers into staying but the truth is he has whole minutes at a time with dead air because no one wants to advertise with him. This just has to be causing him difficulties.

On this issue, I'm more curious why Obama is bothering to commit troops to attack an organization that isn't a threat to America.

It's a fair question, but if enough Americans support intervention then doesn't that give a mandate to act?

Its now more relevant due to the huge Stop Kony campaign and aftermath of Sandra Fluke. I hadn't noticed the comments were from October, because the news story is from today, but I genuinely don't see what it matters. He said it, he's a ****ing idiot.

Like hell its relevant, the writer deliberately threw that together to make it look like Rush said that AFTER that vid came out, and you fell for it. It's deception, plain and simple.

Well its not technically dishonest as it says in the article that the comments were from last October. Doesn't deception generally involve trying to hide the truth?

If they didn't, it would be a lawsuit. It depends on the faithful not looking too closely and repeating the implied lie as the literal truth. Like you did when you said he doubled down. Imagine that lie across a million tweets.

There's hardly an implied lie. The writer placed this: 'But last October, Limbaugh blasted the president for committing troops to "wipe out Christians."' clearly in the article. It is it's own paragraph and placed right above the video where it would be easily spotted.

He didn't know that at the time, he apologized, and he never spoke of it again. As I stated elsewhere, I heard the original broadcast and it couldn't've been more than five missinformed wince inducing minutes.

I'm surprised that TMM is so upset about this non-existent implied lie, but seems to have no problem with Rush's outright lie about Obama wanting to "wipe out Christians."
