There were plenty of reports of the Brits not abandoning there forts in the Ohio Valley. That's how they were able to push Indian raids. And there is no reason to engage in impressment when there is no conflict in which to impress sailors (just because the war with France ended doesn't mean there would be no navel warfare in the future involving the UK).
