There were also Germans fighting for the Brits. Most of them Jewish, some also political opponents who escaped at some point before the war. Don't tell me this isn't taught either

A lot of things never get taught in American schools. Other things are taught at some point and forgotten. Why has the capital of Turkmenistan been suppressed? I want answers.

People here act like things are well-known... you know like the German-Chinese alliance that you said is well-known several months ago?

Not everything is well-known, but that many foreign nationals were both forced into or volunteered for service in the SS/Wehrmacht etc is overall rather known, and hardly kept secret.

Well-known among people with educations is different from well-known in the ghetto you inhabit.

Also, fighting for the German Army did not make one a Nazi, any more than fighting in Desert Storm made one a Republican. The vast majority of the Wehrmacht were not Nazis.
Until absurdly massive conscription took place, I think it would be fair to say that most were at least a bit sympathetic to Nazism.

There were quite a few volunteers. Opposition to British colonialism would do that.

The Dutch recruitment is certainly fairly well-known. I know the Bretons also supplied some volunteers:

Nope. Napoleon still got beaten. The 1812 war really wasn't of much significance to Britain in the long term.

What was the long-term significance of the war to the US? I think the words for the national anthem were written then but I can't think of anything else.

The long term consequence for the US is that Canada is not now part of it.

Would Canada be part of the US if the war had never happened...?

Probably, imo (quite possibly without Quebec).
