I've provided far more evidence for the position that he is not a liberal than you have provided for the position that he is a liberal.

    • I think Obama and healthcare is more like "The Old Man and the Lisa" Simpsons episode, where Mr. Burns ends up working with Lisa towards a socially conscious goal, but because of his nature (politician in Obama's case) turns it into a monstrosity (at least from the viewpoint of the goal).

Also they changed the rules since 2008 so there are no more winner takes all states thus there will be a long primary season where each candidate can pick up part of the electors from each state and the party convention will actually mean something. In living memory the convention was just a formality where the favorite was crowned but now there will be actual horse trading and back room deals being made which should make things much more interesting.

Face the facts--Obama has a lot of flaws. Republicans dislike him for his flaws and for his ideology, not because of his skin color.
They may very well dislike him for his flaws, but the vitriol they spew when talking about him is because he's black.

                    • Seriously though, Obama is center-left. That is why liberals are pissed at him - because he hasn't governed like the liberal they thought they were voting for.

                      • By any non-American definition, he'd be center or possibly even center-right.

It is only here where he's even slightly to the left of the political center.

But it emphasizes the lack of choice you guys have.

Republican or Republican-lite are your options.

                              • The 2004 election was a great example. You had a choice of voting for the party that brought you the Iraq war or you could be a dissenter and vote for the party that merely supported the Iraq war.

                                Awesome.
