New question: who's your favorite Valar? I'm guessing Orome is going to kick ass while Manwe suffers despite his exalted status, but I'm going to go with Aule.

The cavalry charge on the plains was flabbergastic, even if there were too many close ups of that troll. I regularly watch it for its own sake.

I always had a soft spot for Tulkas. He's not the god OF anything in particular. All we're told about him is that he's merry and strong in battle. Like the Hulk on nitrous or something. His one recorded act is to run up to Morgoth--while laughing--and beat the snot out of him. Not sure what that's supposed to symbolize. I once briefly considered creating a DL named Tulkas Astaldo who would do nothing but laugh at inappropriate times and reminisce about hurting people. But, you know--lazy.

Aule, definitely. Most of the Valar don't really get much characterization, but the story of Aule and the creation of the dwarves is so ****ing cool.
          John Brown did nothing wrong.

Tulkas is sorta like early John Wayne in a fist fight, and so is the coolest. Yavanna would kick-ass on the farm, similarly Vana ... and would never get old. Nessa sounds hot.

Of course he is. He's the god of kicking ass and holding grudges.

Yeah, Aule is involved in more cool stories than any of the other Valar, which is probably part of the reason I like him. I also like that so many of his followers turned to evil, despite his own proven goodness. Definitely adds some interesting color to his characterization.

Crap, reading this makes me realise it's been a long long time since I last read LOTR and the Silmarillion. OK, next on my reading list. I should have them around...

It's a cross-over hit. It's not just for fantasy enthusiasts. They're telling human stories in a fantasy world.

Just saw that Parks is getting a sixth season and Community a fifth. I love them both, but NBC must be hurting bad to keep them around.

I don't know. If they keep getting ratings then it would seem to be a cheaper option to do another season of a known popular show than to risk trying to develop a show which may or may not get the same level or ratings.
