The 1998 Ford Contour (base model with stick) has been on its last legs for awhile. I've been researching and test-driving since Thanksgiving, and finally pulled the trigger.

Why would the Prius be any better or worse than any other 2WD car?

If traction is poor, get good winter tires and learn how to drive in snow.

Waste of money. Buy used, that way it doesn't loose 15-20% of its value off the lot. Besides, all a car is is something to get you from point a to point b. Make sure it has AC and heat, good brakes, air bags and gets good gas mileage. The Accord is great. I have a Corrolla.

The Kelly Blue Book value of a 2011 RAV4 (the one as I've configured it) driven off the lot is $30K. The MSRP is $31855 for the same.

Mind you, the RAV4 essentially is in a league of its own for resale value. A 2006 with 75,000 miles on it and same options has a resale value of about $20,000.

You know, you don't come across as much better than Al here. I'd imagine that someone would realize that measuring someone's worth by their "luck with the ladies" (its amusing Al came up with that insult) or how much money they make is total weaksauce.
