What's up with those American single moms taking a second or third job then? How often don't we hear about this kind of people in the US, barely making a living but working very hard?

In 2009 there were over 50 million people without health insurance in the US. Don't tell me those are all lazy bums doing nothing.

Dad typically pays the health insurance as stipulated in the support order.

How many of those are illegal immigrants and people who don't want
to insure themselves because they are young/stupid/careless or for
        any other reason?

I see this relatively high figure (1/6th of the population) brandished by
European leftists, but I always wondered if anyone actually looked up
how many legally employed people (who aren't teenagers, students,
recent immigrants and the like) wish to insure but can't afford any
insurance at all. I bet that the number is much smaller than 50 million.

I thoroughly enjoy hearing the fictions you Euros invent to help you feel superior to a country that surpassed you on every meaningful measure decades ago.

Germans are as fat as Americans. Ya'll work nearly as hard as we do, however, so you've earned some extra Knackwurst.

The German work ethic isn't nearly what it was, Tupac.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

It's impressive relative to the rest of Europe. Also, the American work ethic isn't nearly what it was.

                      • On the contrary, the Germans are only less lazy than the Norwegians and the Dutch.

                        • I have serious doubts about the validity of a statistic that suggests Greece is the second hardest working country on earth.

                          • That shows they cooked up the statistics again.

I thought the problem with the greeks was that they refused to pay taxes?
