"Green" parties of this day have absolutely nothing to do with protecting the local environment. "Environmental protection" just seems to be a rhetorical tool to be used in order to gain governmental power to push through economic & social control. It's sad.

I wasn't talking about American refugees. I suggest you take a look at the 2009 UN Development Report on Migration. Then come back and see how lame your troll really is.

What is this based on, really? You do know that nearly all the green parties are largely anti-authoritarian, don't you? Besides, every ideology wishes to gain governmental power to push its own economic and social agenda. You're not making sense here...

So then, have you made the ultimate asshat post in this thread? It ranks top 5 in my book already

            You need proof that:

            1) Harper is the candidate of the oil lobby
            2) Oil sands are dirtier than conventional crude (leaving transportation aside)

You didn't say that they were "dirtier". You put out patently false and wildly inaccurate quantification.

Harper is not a candidate of the oil lobby. Harper represents a riding in Calgary, whose fortunes are heavily tied to the energy industry. He, like every other MP, represents the people who elected him and their interests.

Having a national leader who represents a tiny portion of your country is kind of weird.

                    welcome to multi-party political systems.

                          Oh, is he?

Isn't it interesting that the only people who voted for him live in a single riding in Calgary? This may be news to you, but people do not elect a Prime Minister in Canada. Harper is elected solely based on his riding.

In any case, Canada's interests are also served via the energy sector right now. The strong resource economy is one of the things which Canada used to whether the global recession.

You clearly have no idea the world of hurt Canada's economy would be in if we followed Kyoto.

                          • Let's not forget that Canada just "punished" UNESCO for letting those rascally Palestinians into their organization. I don't think the problem is that Harper is a lackey of the energy industry. He's a lackey of the USA!

More specifically, you seem to be claiming something to the effect that something is 4 times worse than burning gas in the tank, and something else about ignoring CO2 equivalent emissions.

I'm trying to figure out what you are talking about.
