  • I fell down the stairs.

Not tumbling end over end, but my foot slipped and I slid, with my leg bent under me at the knee. It hurts. I can't go to the doctor. No insurance. I don't want to go to the V.A. hospital. They'd probably want to amputate. Stupid stairs. Stupid knee. Stupid V.A. hospital. I'm not happy. My cat was concerned. Good cat.

Break your finger then your leg will stop hurting.

No, but it's not broken is it?

No. Thanks for asking. It might be stretched ligaments.

Well I'm thinkin' the VA wont amputate, but I wouldn't let them put you under. They might screw up. Can you walk?

Serves you right for being a stupid Republican living in a stupid backward country that doesn't have free medical care.
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

If he can, I'll take them.

I can walk. It's kind of a hobble, but I can get around. I've done this to a more minor degree many times. My foot slip off the edge of a step and I slide to the next step.
This time I was down and there was no stopping.

You didn't get what I meant.

It makes me sad how callous and backwards Americans are. I would understand if they were advocating a system that was more efficient or demonstrably resulted in better care, but it's plain as day that the private system the Americans have is incredibly inefficient and does not provide better care for the society as a whole.

No, I get what you meant. We've had this debate dozens of times. It's pointless retreading this ground. All you've ever done in these discussions is claim moral superiority as if nebulous aphorisms are more valid than utilitarianism.

You also have your invalid statistics, I'll grant you that.

Nah Asher, the american system works just as intended - it culls out all the weak and poor people that doesn't deserve to live and thereby give room for all the small HC's

Edit: Oups, forgot to wish Sloww a good recovery.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

                              There's nothing invalid about them.

And I do have a moral highground. You really can't even argue the point. You think it's fine for people to not get life-saving health care and preventative medicine. I think human life is valuable and humans should be respected on a fundamental level that provides such care, which is well within the means of your country. Frankly, anyone who thinks otherwise is an ******* or someone who has never thought about the situation philosophically, morally, or with any ounce of humanity.
