My opinion? He'd be one of those lecturing drunks who goes off on long stories, loses his place and repeats parts, gets angry if he thinks you're not following along, etc. But the stories would all be about bad CompSci assignments.

reading only few first posts of this thread, Pax, chances are zero.

My stance is, I'm more "it's everyone's choice" type of a guy. I don't think it's anyone's business what people do to their own body, and this is my personal position. All other arguments derive from this corner stone and yes doing hard drugs is probably a bad idea and kids should not do drugs etc.

As for pot and its affects on health, I am especially interested in the research done on cannabinoids and their potential to put brain tumors in remission and even shrinkage. There's actual studies done on this and it's pretty promising, the bottom line is that for me I have nothing to lose. To use it as a preventative method and have some fun at the privacy of my own house. I mean I don't drink, go out anymore, or do anything else that could be considered adult fun. So smoking some pot for legit health reasons and also to use it as something that relaxes me (I've become quite tense and nervous due to worrying about health), and hey, maybe it'll provide some fun times, maybe I'll play an hour or two a new video game per week, if that happens to be something that brings me enjoyment, relaxations and potential to keep me healthier for a longer time, attaching that to the original position of my body being mine, being an adult who pays more taxes than most in this God forsaken place, I pretty much think its my decision. Doing it at night, when everyone else sleeps, with the consent of my SO. WHO CARES??? Apparently the state does care and would like to remind me that it is against the law, organized crime, human trafficking, racism, against equality, will someone think of the children and other kinds of condescending bull****.

For everyone's information, no, I still have opted not to do it. I SHOULD do it almost regularly! If I was rational, I would be doing it weekly just like I described but I have opted not to, because the nature of my job is so that I can't have anything to do with it, I'd be finished. So I have made a trade off that ****ing sucks. But hey, in a state that treats people like children, in order to protect (who?), not all things make sense.

Sorry for the rant but I am one of those people who would benefit from it and I'm not so much into it for the "getting high" purposes even though that's not something I'd be against. Anyone calling me a hippie or something similar with negative tone would be misguided and it pisses me off that the ignorance of so many people forces me to make trade offs like this. If I was working some other field where I didn't have to worry about security clearance, I'd medicate myself and there's not a sane police officer or any other person who would not do the same in this situation. Unless they'd be idiots. Sometimes the obvious thing to do is punishable. Unfortunately this punishment carries an indirect implications that would hinder and/or stop my way of making a living. Pretty backwards. I'm glad other people know better.
