Having never tried pot, you don't have any basis to question it's harmful effects as you're relying on only anecdotal evidence of the failures of people who consumed a drug. You're missing the plethora of people that use pot responsibly because they're normal just like you.

People who have psychological problems which are clearly exasperated by pot (you can tell that things are better if they are 'clean').

People go from someone who went to school/worked/etc/etc, to someone who spends all their time looking for pot or smoking pot in the course of a few months after starting to smoke... and doesn't stop (not just a couple of months as a student, but years later).

I could go on.

I know others who didn't. I am not claiming that pot destroys everyones life who tries it or even who regularly use it. I would say the same about alcohol.

You are just as retarded for claiming that pot has no serious negative effects as someone who claims that alcohol has no negative effects.

Exactly. A cop doesn't need to look for tracer chemicals to know that you're stoned off your ass.

If you're swerving around, hitting mailboxes and driving the wrong way down streets, they don't need to prove in court that you're high to punish you. And if you're driving perfectly, but stoned silly, then who gives a damn? A cop's job is to protect and uphold the rights of the people, not to be the town dad.

Lying about drugs does no one any good.

I am one of those people who look stoned when I'm 100 percent sober. I have been given sobriety tests and have not had a drop to drink or any drugs in my system whatsoever. Still, the police swore up and down I was on something. I don't think that the war on drugs is the destroyer, although, the war has probably been largely unsuccessful, the problem is still the drugs and the effect on society. I spend 4 nights a week in the streets and I see all kinds of ****. A good portion of crime is somehow drug related. Crackheads are the copper thieves and crackheads are the ones breaking into homes to steal so they can pawn or trade the goods for drugs. Dope boys are the ones that are robbing other dope boys far there product and dope boys are the ones that are shooting each other and innocent bystanders. Drugs whole scale are a poison to any society. Look at the effect of opium on china. Look at the effect of drugs on returning vietnam vets, civil war vets and ww1 vets that were treated with narcotics for their injuries. I don't know why this is even the subject of an argument. There is historical data that proves drugs are bad too the general population. Now of course, some one will point out several historical figures that used drugs to counter that argument but on the scale of things even if the number of successful historical figures numbered in the thousands would that negate all the drug addicts past and present whose lives have been ruined by cocaine, morphine, heroin, lsd, marijuana and etc...I think that we would be better off without drugs than we are with drugs.

Which is why in NL weed has been ´legal´ (for all practical purposes) for many years. You can also get methadon for free at specialized clinics (the government did the math, and figured that providing meth to addicts is cheaper than society´s cost for all the criminal activity that meth-heads would normally enact).
