Yeah that was a bit crazy, although..

The Nobel Committee said he won it for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples".
..so maybe it was fair based on that poll.

Lets wait and see what the situation will be like after his likley future adventures in Africa. On the one hand this is begging for a few incidents, on the other no one cares about Africa, least of all Africans.

        • Obama won popularity around the world simply for not being Bush. By the way, Bush actually wasn't globally reviled. It was pretty much just Western Europe and maybe South America that hated him, or at least hated him more than they would hate any American president.

It is said that the only time Phillip II of Spain had a ROTFL moment was when he received the news about what had just happened in France during Saint Bartholomew's day.

I guess that is true. It was just so disturbing to see genuine emotions from Hillary Clinton.

                    • What is LessWrong? I googled it and came up with a site saying "a community blog devoted to refining the art of human rationality". Are these people who should be hit in the head with a hammer? (Just to be clear I'm not threatening hit anyone with a hammer. Please don't ban me.)
