Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Why do people assume that the Roman factions wouldn't scramble to ally themselves with the U.S.? Romans were pragmatic, above all else.
The question is posed in an adversarial context.
Besides, what would the Marines get out of such a concession to Augustus?

I trust that the Marines would position themselves to be the leaders of any such arrangement. They have a lot to gain by exploiting existing power structures, using the established authorities to guarantee their supply of food, wine, and women. They don't necessarily have to ally with Augustus, but they could easily divide and conquer.
Scenario 2: A single Tyranid Lictor is sent back in time to prevent the Imperium of Man from using so much faux-latin. Roman Lictors are the only defense. Who wins?
I played Warhammer 40k once. I used plastic army men instead of those stupid miniatures. Much less time consuming. Turns out it's not even that fun a game.

I've never played the tabletop games, but the computer ones are great.

The Marines would be unable to do any of this, given that they would be a bunch of dim soldiers who don't speak the language and have no regional or tribal power base to fall back upon competing against some of the canniest political operators of all time. The jarhead's only option is to try to rule through force and terror, and that option would rapidly fade as their supplies ran out. The Marines are ****ed.

You ****ing keep dreaming!
Look what happened to the American Indians because of the technology the WHITE MAN possessed.
Let's not underestimate the human knowledge acquired over the two millennia. While there would be an element of only having operational knowledge of things and not how to build it from scratch, a problem exhibited by most people in the West, anyway, the Marines would still have an advantage in their understanding of mechanics, medicine, geography, chemistry, agriculture, etc.
I stated before how modern hygiene would minimize the effects of disease (a corpsman would have more medical knowledge than anything the Romans had), but that is only one area where even a layman's understanding of something would greatly exceed that of the Romans. I don't think there'd be a single area where the combined knowledge of the Marines wouldn't greatly exceed anything the Romans had.

Al, all that knowledge is irellevant. F.ex. mechanics - whats that worth witout acces to advanced tools ? Medicine ? You are joking, rigth ? 2K marines wouldn't be able to produce an aspirine, though, their knowledge of hygiene would protect them to a degree. Geography ? You are stuck on the italian pennisula with no viable escape routes. Agriculture ? Well, some may know how to start a tractor etc. but there really aren't so many of those around.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
