DC has some of the most restrictive concealed carry laws in the US. If you do buy, you might have to cut down the barrel.

And you don't have to move to Europe if you want to feel oppressed. Come to Canada, where you will probably still have a year or two before our fascist overlord makes carrying guns compulsory.
There's nothing wrong with the dream, my friend, the problem lies with the dreamer.

i recommend trying a handgun, it might be more fun and is probably better for home protection should you decide to purchase.

Also, Felch: could you work on getting the nra to inform gun ranges around nyc that lawful non-permanent residents are not barred from shooting handguns?

Incidentally, I don't think the NRA's range allows lawful non-permanent residents to shoot at its own range. At least, that's what Yelp says.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

She doesn't like handguns. Thinks they should be outlawed. My explanation of the 2nd amendment is ineffective.

Are you on a non-immigrant visa? I think federal law requires non-immigrants to have a hunting license before they can be sold guns or ammo.

How does anybody even know you're not a citizen? Is it on your license or something?

Why on earth do you live downtown? At least live in Arlington or something. Anything but downtown DC.

To each his own, HC. You prefer some suburban hellhole. I don't.

It says "temp vis" followed by the month and year of the expiration of my current status.
