Sure, you can call for all Jews to be murdered and protest the funeral of fallen soldiers. But damned if you make a photocopy of your textbook.

Polytubbies are fat, stupid, greedy assh*les that should be driven off the internet.

This might be unexceptable under Canadian law, if Polytubbies were real.

In Canada you cannot say/print things like:Jews are greedy, thieves that should be treated like the vermin they are.
Indians are lazy drunks that should be exterminated.

Mr. Whatcott printed & distributed materials pointing out that all homosexuals are pedophiles who actively want to convert children and that they should be gotten rid of.

The question is whether the specifics are illegal - HRC and one court said 'yes', one court said 'no', and nowe its up to the Supreme Court.

You are also not allowed to tattoo 卐 on your school aged shildren.

Yeah, the second one has money involved.

Seriously though, it's free speech. We've been through this. We don't want the government deciding what we can and can't hear. But we want creative people to be able to earn money from their work.

Unfortunately for the Christian bigots that think it's unfair, they're going to have to deal with it. Their rights to spew hateful bull**** are secondary to personal safety.
How is calling someone a sinful queer harming personal safety? Are you really that thin-skinned that you can't take a verbal hit from an ignorant buffoon?

Free speech is an inviolable holy principle that only stops when someone calls dibs on what you were going to say

Did you mean "We want to pirate the works of creative people"?

That would go some way to explaing why record companies have their nickers in a knot about downloading free music etc etc etc

Was anybody actually listening to this guy's rant about Sodomites? Or were they standing around thinking, "Geez, what a dumbass"? Given that we react that way to the WBC in the US, I have a hard time believing this guy was getting much traction in Canada.

If HC really wants creative people to earn money, nothing is stopping him from giving them his own money.

He might be too busy downloading free music.

Or photocopying stuff out of textbooks.

I pay for all my music. I don't pirate stuff.

You have to yell really loud at them. Same with ferners who pretend they can't understand you!

Have you ever photocopied a page from a book. Yep, just stood there, in broad daylight right in the middle of the school library, and just photocopied out of a textbook. Yep, you're allowed to copy so much for eductaional purposes but are you certain you never went over the legal limit? Are you sure your photocopying activities never reduced a company's profits?

No, I don't ever use the library. Not that I consider libraries to be theft.
