Technically yes he should be tried with treason. He conspired with agents of a foreign government to commit illegal acts on Pakistani sovereign territory.

The fact Pakistan are considering charging him with such however (and the fact that the US were unable to trust Pakistan to help apprehend OBL in the first place) means you really should stop giving them money.

the cia was using the un wmd inspections to set saddam up for assassination, then complained when saddam kicked the inspectors out

now the cia is using vaccination programs for cover

that aint kosher, its sorta like hiding combat stuff in hospitals

i wont be surprised to find out medical staff and volunteers become greater targets of suspicion and attacks

Not to mention thousands/millions of children will probably die due to their governments distrusting vaccination teams in future.

Well, I think perhaps we didn't expect Pakistan to be upset about us killing OBL. Our bad...Anyway, I'm not willing to lay the blame on us for a vaccination PR crisis that Pakistan could have entirely prevented from occurring.

Seriously? Using a purely humanitarian front for an assassination doesn't seem to be a little immoral to you, especially when the consequences could be extremely damaging long term?

Why would he choose to be critical of his country? He's a patriot.

So the vaccines really were fake? That is pretty sick.

They collected some DNA, big whoop. So yeah, it was a front, but no, I don't see it as immoral. No one died, no one got hurt. It's not like we bombed a hospital. As for the indirect effects of new Pakistani vaccination phobia,

Were they? I was pretty sure we gave out real vaccines and took tiny blood samples. If they were fake, that's stupid. I don't see why we couldn't have just used real vaccines...

How is the Pakistani government supposed to stop a PR crisis? The US government can't even convince Americans that vaccines didn't give their kids autism.

So if they'd carpet bombed the town, that would have been the Pakistanis own fault too?

We could potentially be talking about tens of thousands of people dying because of this little stunt, how can that not be your fault? Was one guy really worth lots of dead children?

No....and the DNA testing was precisely WHY we didn't have to carpet bomb a town. Well, one of the reasons.

By not revealing the manner in which we collected Osama bin Laden's DNA? I don't remember if it was them or us. If it was us, then we were stupid for explaining that.

It might sound like I was being hyperbolic, but whats the difference really if this ends up costing thousands of lives? Just because one way is slow and painful rather than fast and painful?

The difference is that one is the result of a bunch of ********* refusing to get treatment because they're scared that the americans might be trying to track down terrorists, and the other is where we literally blow them to smithereens. There's a qualitative difference there.
