Look, France has a lot of McDonald's. Deal with it.

Well, as long as it isn't in Oakland or Richmond. I went to Castro Valley High and it was pretty good.

Have you ever been to Slovakia, kid?

Do you understand the exponential rise in fast-food as a country moves into a modern economy?

For example, when I was in college I worked in a program to tutor pre-college students (3rd through 12th grade) - some tutors' "charges" consistently improved, some didn't; some tutors had complaints lodged against them for being *******s, some didn't. Sure, you can't quantify a teacher's performance based on a few students (some just don't give a damn), but over the course of a few years it should become more apparent whether a teacher deserves tenure or a raise or whatever.

This only works for math and some science classes. Grammar OK, but neither reading or writing, or humanities.

This is already how tenures are awarded, but pay raises?

I tutored a few kids in reading as well - it was easy to tell whether I'd done my job or not. "Could she read this book before? Can she read it now?"

                At a low level, yes.

As soon as reading tests involve dissertation questions, grading is too subjective.

I have yet to find a comprehensive and convincing method of evaluating teachers. It's a typical case of denial. You know something's wrong when government is more interested in blaming its employees, than to give them the means to succeed. There are so many problems to education right now, incompetent teachers is low amongst the list.

Here's the real problem of education: rubberstamping of individuals for entry into the job market. This in turn means you can't fail your students. At some point, your classes are so worthless that you lose any sense of motivation. Trust me, the problem comes from above.

Fact: my colleague gave a list of questions with ANSWERS before the exam. Some idiots managed to get below 60% anyway. Guess what? Can't fail them.

Boris, you're just ****ing wrong. If we can test student's ability, then we can test teacher's ability, BECAUSE THE DELTA IN STUDENT'S ABILITY IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE TEACHER'S ABILITY god you're retarded

Your post didn't address any of the points I made. Keep making a fool of yourself, I have a feeling that Ben Kenobi is nearing retirement.

How much of a factor do you think a teacher plays in test scores and how do you find that out.
