  • The good people of Calgary would riot if as many people worked on the public dollar as people in your county do. You ****ing Communists.
Canadian government spending as a proportion of GDP > American government spending as a proportion of GDP.

    • If you want to know how many people want to live there, land value is an excellent measure, and superior to population growth.

Again you betray your complete ignorance of economics. The same analysis suggests that people would prefer to live in Beijing. The correct metric is, of course, the unimproved price of land.

It turns out Calgary is not Canada.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the overall tax burden in Calgary is lower than in Fairfax for your average person. And that includes health care.

I would be very surprised if that were the case. Virginia has pretty low taxes.

What kind of idiot thinks that the rate of people moving to a city has no bearing on the desire of people to live in that city?

The answer is: "An actuary". The enemy of common sense and intuition.

                • Asher probably thinks recently-formed refugee camps are the place to be.

Yes. And Alberta has hundreds of billions of dollars of oil.

Yes. Calgary is exactly comparable to a refugee camp.

Evidently Calgary has superior public schools as well...

To be clear, you are asserting that an acre of land in Beijing will be cheaper than an acre of land in Fairfax county?

The influx of people buying land in a city will increase the price of land. The price of the land is a secondary indicator of immigration. The primary indicator is movement of people.

They tend to grow very rapidly.

It has a bearing on a lot of things, which you can tell from the number of third world ****holes that have high population growth.

Not once you start running out of land.

Calgary has experienced sustained rapid growth for decades. It has the highest standard of living in Canada. It has the highest wages in Canada. It has the highest levels of education in Canada. It has the lowest taxes in Canada. It has some of the best landscapes in the country right on the outskirts of the city.

Your comparison to a refugee camp is asinine. Land is extremely expensive in Calgary, and the growth rate of Calgary is far higher than Fairfax as well. Any way you cut it, you and Kuci are tools here.
