What's your problem? Don't you know that people call the apartment they rent home?

Don't you know that some people rely on the income from rented properties to live? Why should a landlord, someone who makes it their life's work to provide housing, be forced to accept less money than a property is worth? Why don't you care about them?

Landlords invest their savings in housing. Landlords are expected to put part of the rent towards maintenance, property taxes, and other expenses. There needs to be a return on investment, or else nobody would bother renting out property and everybody who couldn't afford to buy would be homeless.

Rent control is evil because it uses the power of government to commit extortion against a minority. There are more renters than owners renting out, so it's politically popular to support rent-control. That doesn't mean that it is the least bit moral.

What a pile of crap? So you're pitting me against the poor? You're silly. If you don't make enough money renting out your property I suggest you sell it. Owning property doesn't guarantee you income silly. That doesn't make me an enemy of the poor. Stop listening to right wing radio. That's what you sound like with this idiocy.

Who the **** would purchase a rent-controlled property? Your return on investment is restricted, and it might not even be possible to break even.

And you're right, owning a property doesn't guarantee you an income. Margins are small enough when rent isn't capped. Landlords assume tremendous liability, and could very easily lose everything they've invested. That's why they're entitled to be rewarded if they are successful. Why can't you understand that the landlord is a human being also?

Human beings aren't entitled to reveive rent. What kind of **** have you been listening to?

Look if they're suffering I feel for them, but if they think they are entitled to collect rent they are just wrong.

Edit: also with this crowd, since it's going to come to it anyway, let me say that I believe in a fair rent, but that landlords aren't entitled to market rents. No one is entitled to market prices when it comes to basic necessities. Now, go ahead and tell everyone h I hate and dehumanize to the poor Felch.

What is unfair about asking for a market rent? You're just asking someone to pay the same rent that other people are already willing to pay to live in the apartment.

This will only ensure that there is less supply of those goods.

Is it okay to steal from farmers now? Should doctors be forced to practice medicine at gunpoint? Who would ever want to be a farmer or a doctor if they weren't given equal protection under the law? And what's the difference between a fair rent and a market rent?

Let me guess, you have no idea how to answer any of those questions.

                                Felch,
You're like a lunitic. Of course i wouldn't do those things. A good person knows what he should do and doesn't make excuses for himself like saying that's what everyone else doe. Be a self, not a herd animal.
