Don't give up looking for something better and I would encourage you to look beyond museum curatorships and the rare job title of historian. I too pursued a History M.A. after deluding myself into thinking teaching high school social studies in Texas was a good idea. Holy **** was that a mistake. A little advice to any parents reading this post, immediately crush the aspirations of any child who wishes to teach. Next year I'll begin teaching basic literacy in the federal prison system. It's not something I would have imagined doing when I graduated but I'll take harden convicts over helicopter parents any day.
If Ben the illegal alien can find a decent job in the US, so can you.
