It's not an ad hominem, this a complicated issue that is philosophical, moral, as well as economic. To call a position which neglects to look at the "human" portion of the debate "heartless" is, in fact, somewhat of an understatement.
People differ in their value of human life. People like you and HC choose not to value it, so you make health care a "nice to have". I believe humans living in rich, developed countries (those which are capable of offering the care) should receive health care without sending them into an irrevocable debt spiral.
It is undeniably an issue riddled with moral questions. If you refuse to acknowledge the moral issues, it's just because you are an immoral douchebag. This is not an ad hominem. It is a statement of fact."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

It must be only in the US out of all developed nations where the debate is whether or not to have universal healthcare, rather than how to supply it and what it should include.

The US is "the only major developed country" to do a lot of weird things. Look at where the US stands on the death penalty. Its contemporaries are countries the US condemns regularly."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

There's a name for this kind of fallacy. Do you know it?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

For a country so rich, your unemployment rate is awfully high and your economy rather ****ty. Canada's humming along quite nicely...the only thing holding us back is our export market to the US, which has fallen flat on its face."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate.
