You just have to look at the wind to know it's there. No need to see it swaying trees and blowing stuff around to know it's there

IMO Jesus set a very high standard for being a Christian. That said, many call themselves Christians who shoot for that standard.

You can't look at something that is invisible.

Unfortunately most of these so-called christians choose to aim for only certain aspects of the high standard that was set, and thereby cause untold misery to others. Our forum idiot is one example.

Indeed. Because he may have been following the letter of the law, but there was something in his heart that came before his God.

As I get deeper and deeper into the faith, the more I realize this is true (well, God loves everyone, but if you are really following God, you can't be someone who holds the market over taking care of the poor, needy, and oppressed).

How is denying human nature going to help the poor, needy and oppressed ?

Our human nature is selfish and greedy and wants to priviledge ourselves over those less off.

                              Duh...

What i meant is that it is easier to share with those who are less fortunate if you yourself have more than enough. Private capital enables people to make that choice.

Except there have been a lot of studies which show that wealthier people give less charity than less wealthy people.

I mean 'blind' ones, where they invite people in to do a study, give each a certain amount of money, and allow them to give it to others or keep it for themselves/etc.
