I finished Umberto Eco's The Cemetary of Prague the other day.
I've begun reading Richard Dawkin's The Selfish Gene.
Also read some booklet written by Slavoj Zizek in which he rants against liberal multiculturalism as well as some other obscure stuff.

Btw, my grammar skills my be lacking a bit, but how should I interpret that Lessing quote Let us be lazy in everything, except in loving and drinking, except in being lazy?

he is encouraging people to be lazy. except for three things, loving, drinking and being lazy. presumably he means that we should try hard to do those things and be lazy about everything else.

Depends on your definition of "inferior". I didn't see it for $10, even the evening before. I think that being able to get the book without going to a bookstore and being able to read it on a thin & light Kindle over the thick and heavy book is far more ideal.

Had read all the old Benedict books awhile back and just read the new one. Always a good read. Better after they changed who's point of view that he was using.

I just recently started the Virga series. Read the first two last Saturday.

Didn't know about it before, better than some of the garbage I have read recently.

Unfortunately, his short stories and Virga are the only ones on Kindle. I would be interested in reading the Lady of Mazes/etc.

Weird, I checked the evening before and it was $10 on pre-order.

Yes, e-books are superior to paper books on a couple of points (portability, space saving, generally cheaper, etc.), but actual books are still superior overall IMO. If they were the exact same price, I probably would never buy a Kindle book.

Not to mention you never have to worry about the battery going dead on a book.

The amusing thing is that I've actually paid slightly MORE for an ebook (the paperback was a Bargain Book on Amazon or something) because I find ebooks to be superior.

And the batteries tend to last like 2-3 weeks and are easily rechargable (use the same micro-usb as my cell phone charger anyways).
