Right. It doesn't look human at times. Looks glassy and fake.

My eyes changed colour. I was born with blue eyes (no surprises). By two years old they were grey. Then between my seventh and eighth birthday they turned green- and stayed that way.

Some pseudo science in broken english:

If I recall correctly rufosity and light eyes happen among all caucasians (many southern euros are born blonde and blue eyed with hair and eyes darkening as they age) it was selected in northern europe because of the low light levels (which are even lower than in other places at the same latitude, northern europe is very cloudy and grey), and also because it is an infantile characteristic (something kids are born with that normally disappears as they age), like the epicanthic fold in asians, and humans generally select/prefer for those traits in women. Blonde men are a consequence of men finding blonde women hot, and these blonde women having blonde male babies. For men being light is not a sexual advantage.

Northern Europe not so long ago was a huge block of ice, once it receded caucasians from the south moved there. The groups who moved there must have been quite small an endogamous for a recessive trait to spread so much.

If I recall correctly, blonde hair is most common in the east baltic countries, while blue eyes are most common in ireland (the irish aren't very blonde).

Not just Western societies. Asian chicks love it.

Pssh... only an effect of rarity. Brown eyes don't mean as much to people when everybody has them.

                      rarity? Or exceptional?

There are demonstrated negative consequences for having blue eyes. It's hardly 'exceptional'.

"Negative consequences" -- apparently difficulty with glare. I've no issues.

I can safely say my blue eyes have been an asset in my life. They've always been one of the first things people comment on with me.

In a sea full of bland brown eyes, I'm a shining star of brightness and hope.

Someone already presented the theory that blue eyes became prevalent in europe by being sexier- how could this be if their sexiness is only a product of rarity?
